Two-Stroke Modular Pressure-Boost Pneumatic Cylinder
WPI Taiwan independently develops and manufactures the Two-Stroke Modular Pressure-Boost Pneumatic Cylinder, engineered to optimize spot welding operations through clear separation of workpiece handling and welding force.
Unlike conventional single-stroke cylinders, WPI’s two-stroke design provides two distinct strokes:
- First stroke: wide opening allows the welding gun to easily clear workpiece interference and rapidly move into the welding ready position.
- Second stroke: short, controlled stroke for precise electrode positioning and stable spot welding.
This two-stroke concept allows smooth welding gun approach, maintains welding precision, and improves production line efficiency. The system also includes three defined stop positions for precise motion control.
The modular pressure-boost design enables output force to be increased by adding pressure-boost modules at the rear, allowing easy mechanical upgrades without enlarging or redesigning the main cylinder.

Auto-Alignment (Auto-Correction) Structure Design
WPI Taiwan's auto-alignment (auto-correction) structure design is engineered to address electrode wear, a common cause of welding misalignment and potential workpiece deformation. The function's innovative structural design automatically compensates for the gap of electrode wear, maintaining precise welding coordinates and consistent quality without manual intervention.
In stationary welding machines, when the upper arm descends to clamp the workpiece, the lower arm (electrode) automatically rises to compensate for wearing gap, preventing the workpiece from being pushed or deformed. This allows continuous production without stopping the line to adjust electrode height. A video is provided to demonstrate this function in action, showing how the arm (electrode) fills the gap with the workpiece without causing displacement.
